SSC CGL 2026 Exam Date

The SSC CGL 2026 Tier I examination is tentatively scheduled for August–September 2026, while the Tier II examination is expected to be conducted in December 2026. Applicant Eligibility Details

The applicants having a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university and meeting the prescribed age criteria are eligible to apply for SSC CGL 2026. The applicants must fulfil these eligibility criteria Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent qualification is required for most posts. Final year candidates may apply, but they must possess the required qualification on or before 01 August 2026. Distance learning degrees are accepted only if approved by UGC-DEB. How is selection done?

SSC CGL 2026 selection will be based on a two-tier computer-based examination followed by document verification and post-specific requirements. SSC CGL posts offer salaries ranging from Pay Level 4 to Pay Level 8 under the 7th Pay Commission, along with allowances and central government benefits. Pay Level 8: Rs. 47,600 – 151,100, sections: 44,900 – 142,400; Pay Level 6: Rs. 35,400 – 112,400; Pay Level 5: Rs. 29,200 – 92,300; and Pay Level 4: Rs. 25,500 – 81,100.
